June 25, 4:16 p.m. – Officer Tom Gracie responded to a possible juvenile problem in the 100 block of West Main Avenue. The complainant advised of juveniles skateboarding and smoking. Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who provided information on the juveniles. Officer Gracie located the juveniles at the skate park. Officer Gracie advised the juveniles not to skate in the downtown area. The juvenile described as the one smoking did not have cigarettes on his person at the time.
June 24, 12:45 p.m. – Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to an agency assist call in the 900 block of South Adams Street at the East Adams Rural Hospital. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the DOC Officer Steve Clay and after waiting approximately 30-45 minutes Officer Clay took an unidentified male into custody without incident. The subject was transported to the Adams County Jail and Sgt. Cameron cleared.
June 24, 8:00 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 500 block of West Broadway Avenue. Sgt. Cameron contacted the complainant who advised the neighbor came by yesterday and took a picture of his wife holding her ID. The complainant’s wife gave her consent to have the picture taken but they got to thinking it might not be a good idea. The complainant wanted help contacting the neighbor to have the photo deleted. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the neighbor who advised it was for a scavenger hunt for Harvest Foods. They understood the situation and deleted the photo.
June 24, 3:28 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a verbal domestic in the 1000 block of South Fairway Avenue. A subject was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital for mental health professional evaluation.
June 24, 2:05 a.m. – While on patrol Sergeant Cameron observed unsecured premises in the 100 block of East Tenth Avenue at the Ritzville Golf Course. Both the golf cart sheds drive through doors were standing open. Sgt. Cameron advised dispatch to contact the responsible while he cleared the building. Sgt. Cameron secured the sheds after finding nothing.
June 24, 1:52 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron and WSP Trooper Dustin Stephan responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 400 block of East Cherry Avenue. Sgt. Cameron made contact with the complainant who advised they thought they heard something in their garage and looked outside and saw their front and back passenger doors open on their vehicle. The complainant further advised a similar situation happened two nights prior and that they had chased off a male subject from their garage west onto Birch Avenue. Sgt. Cameron advised both parties that if they hear something again they need to call the police right away. Sgt. Cameron searched the area and did not locate anyone.
June 23, 11:09 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious persons call in the 400 block of North Jefferson at Pru Field. Sgt. Cameron located two vehicles near a hanger on the air field. There were beer cans near the vehicle and upon further inspection, there were the same kinds of beer cans inside the vehicles both open and unopened. Sgt. Cameron checked the area and did not locate anyone. As Sgt. Cameron prepared to tag the vehicles one of the responsible owners showed up and advised the vehicles were parked there so they could take an airplane to a wedding. The subject further advised the vehicles would be gone by morning. Sgt. Cameron cleared.
June 23, 3:44 p.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 500 block of South Jackson Street at Life Care Center. Chief McCormick made contact with the CEO of Life Care by phone in reference to a problem that had occurred that day. The complainant advised Chief McCormick that a family member visiting a resident came into Life Care under the influence and acted disruptively to the other residents. The staff of Life Care asked the subject to leave and to not return in that condition. The complainant advised this incident requires a mandatory report be filed with the state and they wanted it on record with the police department in the event they have future issues with the subject.
June 23, 2:24 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen dispute in the 200 block of East Birch Avenue in the Birchwood Apartments. Chief McCormick made contact with two female subjects and told them not paying for furniture and attempting to repossess the same is a civil matter and if they could not get it worked out between themselves they would have to take the matter to court. Chief McCormick explained to both of them he told the owner the same thing when they called a few days prior. If the issue is forced to become a police matter it may result in an arrest. The subjects stated they understood and Chief McCormick cleared the scene.
June 23, 3:17 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a noise complaint in the 300 block of East Birch Avenue. Officer Gracie contacted the listed subject and advised they needed to turn down the music. The subject understood and turned the music down.
June 22, 11:17 p.m. – While on patrol Officer Gracie observed subjects on the porch of a residence in the 1100 block of South Fairway. Officer Gracie contacted the subjects who stated they were traveling from Florida to Portland and had stopped there to get out of the rain. Officer Gracie advised the subjects they were on private property. The subjects stated they had passed through here approximately a year ago and the homeowner let them stay on the porch at that time. Officer Gracie was unable to contact the homeowner to verify they were allowed to be on the property. Officer Gracie advised the subjects to vacate the area.
June 22, 8:23 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a suspicious 911 call in the 500 block of East First Avenue at the Cottage Motel. Dispatch advised the phone line was open and vehicle tires could be heard screeching followed by people arguing. Dispatch advised the call had originated from a cell phone. Officers Hunter Klewin and Gracie contacted residents in the area who stated they had not seen any vehicles driving recklessly in the area or heard any arguing. Attempts to locate the incident were unsuccessful.
June 21, 11:22 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a noise complaint in the 300 block of East Second Avenue. Dispatch advised a black vehicle had left the area at a high rate of speed. Officer Gracie searched the area but was unable to locate the subject vehicle.
June 21, 10:11 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a citizen dispute in the 300 block of East Birch Avenue. Dispatch advised of a verbal altercation. Officer Gracie contacted the subjects who stated they were having an argument. The subjects were not clear about the cause of the argument. Officer Gracie advised the subjects to resolve the issue and avoid any further yelling.
June 21, 12:49 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a noise complainant in the 500 block of West Broadway Avenue. While en route the complainant called back and advised the neighbors had stopped making the noise and they did not want police response. Sgt. Cameron cleared.
June 20, 11:12 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a nuisance call in the 100 block of West Sixth Avenue. Complainant advised of an animal problem/noise complaint that has been going on since 10 p.m. Sgt. Cameron attempted to contact the dog owners and got no response. Sgt. Cameron left a message for the dog owner regarding the situation. Sgt. Cameron advised dispatch that the animal control officer may need to visit the dog owners about the noise when they return.
June 20, 10:19 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a possible theft in the 300 block of West Broadway, at the Zion Church. Complainant advised of two male subjects stealing from the donation box. Sgt. Cameron contacted the subjects they advised they had permission from the driver of the truck that picks up the donations. Sgt. Cameron contacted the pastor of the church who advised that the church doesn’t have control over the donation boxes, they only give permission for them to be on the property. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant of the situation and the subjects were released.
June 19, 9:36 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron re-contacted a subject from the prior call who had a DOC warrant. Subject has a broken back, a shattered hip and broken ribs. Corrections officer Robert Reynolds advised the jail could not book the subject with the extent of their injuries. DOC was advised. Sgt. Cameron detained the subject while DOC attempted to find a solution. DOC advised they would send a team out the following day to pick up the subject. Chief McCormick was advised of the situation.
June 19, 9:18 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious person call in the 400 block of West Sixth Avenue. Complainant advised of two suspicious males inquiring about items in the neighbors yard. The suspects claimed to be scrappers and were interested in the property. Complainant advised the subjects were on foot and walking toward Jefferson and are now joined by a third male subject. Sgt. Cameron contacted the three subjects.
They advised Sgt. Cameron they were contacting residents that appeared to have scrap in their yards. They advised they were not going to steal the scrap, they were just looking.
The subjects were released and went to one of the subject’s house. The subjects were warned about drinking in public.
