May 23, 11:22 p.m. – Agency assistance was requested by WSP Trooper Randall Elkins with a DUI arrest on I-90 westbound near milepost 220. Deputy Aaron Madison responded.
May 23, 5:50 p.m. – While on patrol, Deputy Dan Verhey located a front door open on East Second Street. The building was checked and secured.
May 23, 12:21 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a subject selling sick dogs in the area of East Third Street. Deputy Jeffrey Lane made contact with the subject and was unable to find any sick dog on the property.
May 23, 7:06 a.m. – Agency assistance was requested at the jail. Undersheriff John Hunt transported an inmate to the hospital for medical treatment until jail staff was able to take over.
May 22, 7:24 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a female subject walking near North Marcellus Road and East Harder Road. Deputy Ned Bernath spoke with the subject who advised she was walking to a friend’s home.
May 22, 3:42 p.m. – Ritzville complainant called to report a suspicious person and vehicle that came to their residence on East Hiller Road. A male subject knocked on the door and then opened the door when the complainant didn’t answer right away. Subject was driving a red Jeep Cherokee and asked directions to Spokane. Vehicle left towards Ralston. Sergeant Troy Mock checked the area extensively but was unable to locate the vehicle.
May 22, 10:20 a.m. – Complainant reported their dog was attacked by three other dogs in the area of West Lind-Warden Road, Lind. Deputy Verhey contacted the dog owners and informed them of the state’s dangerous dog laws.
May 20, 7:23 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of two suspicious vehicles in the area of East Rehn Road, at 3:45 p.m., complainant advised their neighbor observed a red Pontiac style vehicle and a blue grey older square body Nissan. Complainant checked the area and didn’t observe anything missing but wanted the Sheriffs office to be aware in case contact was made with those vehicles in the area.
May 20, 2:15 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of an abandoned Toyota Four-Runner on their property at South St Claire Avenue that has been there for a year. Deputy Ben Buriak contacted the complainant and completed the hulk vehicle form as requested.
May 20, 10:00 a.m. – Notified of an alarm activated at a location on East Lind-Ralston Road, Ritzville. Deputy Verhey and Trooper Mark Shepherd contacted the residence. The listed resident also contacted and advised they believed the alarm set off mistakenly. The residence was secure and all units cleared.
May 19, 11:05 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a juvenile refusing to come home and complainant requests contact. Deputy Madison contacted the complainant and was advised that the complainant decided to let the juvenile stay at a friend’s house for the night.
May 18, 8:18 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of a horse caught in the fence with a possible broken leg located near West First Street. Deputy Buriak arrived on scene and the horse was no longer caught in the fence and was walking around the corral. Listed subjects arrived on scene to take care of the horse.
May 17, 3:41 p.m. – Washington State Patrol advised of a sexual assault that occurred on a Greyhound bus traveling on I-90 in Adams County.
May 17, 2:07 p.m. – While traveling north on SR 395 near milepost 84, Sergeant Mock contacted a female subject in a white passenger car with a blown tire. The subject could not loosen the lug nuts. Sgt. Mock helped the subject change the tire and get on their way.
May 17, 10:28 a.m. – While traveling eastbound on SR 26, Undersheriff Hunt came across a deer that appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, but was still alive, near milepost 84 on SR 395 northbound. The deer was dispatched and D.O.T. was contacted to remove the carcass from the roadway.
May 16, 9:35 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of contact with a 19-year old male who had an argument earlier in the evening with his mother on South Lutcher Avenue. Complainant had already called the mother to come and pick him up. The mother arrived and Sergeant Brian Taylor cleared.
May 16, 2:16 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a missing 25-auto handgun that was taken from the home on South Dewald Road, within the last couple of months. Deputy Madison contacted the complainant to generate the report.
May 16, 8:48 a.m. – Agency assistance requested for transport. Undersheriff Hunt and Sergeant Mock assisted with the transport of an inmate to the hospital for a mental health conference and then back to the jail.
May 16, 10:03 a.m. – Washtucna complainant reported an assault that occurred on May 11 at the school. Deputy Buriak made contact with the complainant.
May 16, 2:35 a.m. – Agency assistance requested by City Police at East Second Avenue, Ritzville, for an individual breaking windows with a baseball bat. Deputy Craig Frank located the subject and transported them to the hospital for injuries.
May 15, 8:45 a.m. – Lind complainant called to report a suspicious vehicle that showed up in their parking lot on West First Street, last Friday and no one has contacted them about it. Sergeant Mock will attempt to reach the registered owner to find out why it is parked there. Sgt. Mock left a message on the cell phone of the registered owner to call the Sheriffs office about the vehicle. The owner called back later in the day and advised they thought the lot was a community parking lot and had left the vehicle there while out of town. The owner advised they would remove the vehicle on May 16.
May 15, 6:09 a.m. – Washtucna complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle parked by the D.O.T. sheds on South Austin Road. The vehicle had been parked there for some time. Deputy Buriak located the vehicle and was later informed the registered owner had made civil arrangements with D.O.T. office to leave the vehicle there and would pick it up at a later date.
May 15, 6:07 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a one-vehicle rollover, unoccupied, collision at a location on East Danekas Road and East Wellsandt Road. The vehicle was reported off the roadway and both air bags were deployed. Deputy Buriak located the vehicle off the roadway as reported. The vehicle was later towed.
May 14, 8:33 a.m. – Lind complainant advised of several steel pipes that were stolen from their location on West First Street. Deputy Frank contacted the complainant. No suspects are known at this time.
May 14, 7:41 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised they locked their keys in their vehicle located on West First Avenue. Deputy Frank made contact with the complainant and access was gained to the vehicle.
May 13, 9:38 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of hearing two gunshots near North Deal Road. No vehicle description and no direction of travel. Deputy Lane contacted two subjects working at the potato shed in the area. The subjects advised they had heard the shots, the vehicle never came to the Deal and Rosenoff intersection.
May 13, 7:59 p.m. – Washtucna complainant advised their car keys were stolen near South Main Street. Deputy Lane made contact with complainant.
May 13, 5:22 p.m. – Lind complainant reported two subjects going through an old car near a location on East Second Street. Trooper Carmen Herrington and Sergeant Brian Taylor contacted the listed person. The car in question has been hulked by Adams County Sheriffs Office and the subject was moving the car out.
