Second Harvest Inland Northwest and Emanuel Lutheran Church will host a mobile food bank distribution on Friday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Emanuel parking lot.
Second Harvest’s mobile food bank program gets nutritious fresh foods to hungry people in rural and urban communities served by food pantries that lack adequate refrigeration to safely handle perishable products.
“Getting donated food to where it’s needed most is one of our biggest challenges,” said Jason Clark, Second Harvest’s executive director. “The mobile food bank program has helped us move thousands of pounds of food to communities throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho. This program has been incredibly successful in getting food to hungry people.”
Second Harvest’s mobile food bank distributions are scheduled in cooperation with partner agencies and sponsors.
Second Harvest utilizes refrigerated trucks to deliver product and volunteers help distribute the food to hundreds of families and seniors who would otherwise be unable to afford many of the nutritious items.
For more information about this food distribution contact Pastor Bob Kenyon, 509-347-6313. The Emanuel Lutheran Church is located at 206 South Division Street in Ritzville.
