Two dozen teams travel to Hoopfest

During the Spokane Hoopfest street basketball tournament last weekend, around 25 local teams participated in the largest three-on-three basketball competition in the world. According to the Spokane Hoopfest website, over 7,000 team compete in the annual tournament, which brings around 250,000 people to the streets of Spokane for the weekend event.

One local team was pronounced the winner of their division on Sunday. In the male high school students division, team members Dylan Hartz, Bridger Smith, Connor O’Neill and Colby Starring placed first with their team, Show Me Your Tweets.

There were also two local teams who won the consolation bracket and were the awarded the famous “13th” place award. Tebow is a Linner won the male high school division with team members Trevor Jantz, Brian Campbell, Jacob Saetre and Cort Ruzicka. In the adult women’s division, the Shady Ladies won the consolation bracket with players Jessica Hernandez, Holly Hirst, Leyna Downey and Halee Edeblute.
