Contract negotiations ongoing for CEO

Commissioners for the local hospital district agreed to amend a draft contract as it works to reach agreement with a potential new CEO.

The commissioners met in executive session on Thursday, June 28, to discuss terms requested by Rick Richards.

Following the closed session, the panel returned to an open meeting setting unanimously approved new contract terms. Those included a 12-month severance package which they were told is now an industry standard, a maximum of $5,000 in moving expenses and an annual bonus of up to 10 percent of the CEO’s salary annually provided they meet the goals and objectives established by the commissioners.
