How long has it been since you’ve hummed the “Oscar Mayer Wienie” song or tried to remember what “Mickey would eat?”
Those who attended the Kahlotus and Washtucna music department programs last month, received a short walk down memory lane. We also were reminded how “corny” the Hee Haw opening questions were, what Big Joe Green did in the Coke ad and how the Reece’s peanut butter cups acted.
These were the “words from our sponsors” between each musical act that included a Korean Fan Dance that was accompanied by “The Spanish Song” done on the guitar; several 1970s songs played and sung by students and specialty pieces done by the guitar class, and the Big Blue Band.
Lora Hille was creator of “Olga” of the “Smorgasbord Show” as well as the conductor and sometimes soloist. She put together a fun evening again this year and they are all to be commended.
I don’t how I could have forgotten “the closing when the cast sang Lawrence Welk’s, “Goodnight Song,” which even included the bubbles. A fine ending to a wonderful evening.”
