Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
The Ritzville drama group is performing a play on Thursday, May 17, at 7 p.m. in the Ritzville Grade School gymnasium. The play is titled, “Zink: The Myth, The Legend, The Zebra” and is written by Cherie Bennett. The performance is being presented courtesy of The Dramatic Publishing Company.
The cast for the production is Caleb Olson, Jarradd Morley, Ashley Carruth, Alessa Neilan, Crystal Brooks, Brandon Chapman, Dezarae West, Justin Templin, JD McBride, Luise Oppermann, Caleb Stanley, Matt Fryberger, Kym Webb, Ariana Salazar, Cassie Ewing and Darian Morgan. The director of the play is Rosemarie Schultz.
The play tells the story of Becky, a young girl fighting leukemia, and her interaction with her protective herd of imaginary zebras. The play interweaves moments of sarcasm with serious and thoughtful drama. The play manages to share both hard messages about illness and prejudice, while giving uplifting encouragement about kindness and support.
Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. Pre-kindergarten children are free with paid admittance from their guardians.
