Ritz Roadhouse to replace Perkins

Bob Bajwa and Joe Sandhu, owners of the Ritz Food Mart Conoco on Smitty’s Boulevard, have made a major investment in Ritzville. The businessmen have purchased the former Perkins Restaurant property and have launched into a major renovation of the building in preparation of a May opening of a new eatery ­— The Ritz Roadhouse. The pair are working with Allen Donahoe, who is serving as the restaurant’s general manager.

Together the trio are making enormous improvements on the inside of the restaurant, in plans to open a family-style eatery that appeals to area residents and the thousands of travelers making their way along Interstate 90.

The menu is currently under development, but features a hearty fare that should be popular with the locals. Donahoe explained the plan includes a complete barbecue menu with pulled pork, beef brisket, whole and half chicken, spare ribs, beef ribs and babyback ribs.

Signature burgers, sandwiches and Italian food also appears on the menu.

Donahoe said the plan calls for a solid breakfast menu that are served daily during the morning hours.

The trio agrees that quality meals in an inviting atmosphere is the ultimate goal.
