Viola M. (Schwandt) Blauert

Viola M. (Schwandt) Blauert died at the age of 100, on Jan. 19, 2012, at Life Care Center of Ritzville. She was born on Aug. 2, 1911, at Pullman, Wash.

She married Fred Blauert on June 15, 1932, and celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 1986. They spent their married life on a farm near Spangle, Wash., where they raised their five children.

In 1969 they retired to Spokane where they became active in the Lincoln Heights Congregational Church. She was active with the Paper Packers and Ladies Groups as long as she was able. They transferred their membership from the Paradise Grange...
