The United States Postal Service announced the increased prices for mail services on Jan. 22. Mailing services with increases include: first-class mail, standard mail, periodicals, package services and extra services, along with shipping prices.
Letters that weigh one ounce or less, increase to 45 cents, a one-cent increase and the first change in price since 2009. Single piece letters that are over one ounce are unchanged and remain at 20 cents for each additional ounce.
Postcards have a three-cent increase, making the current price 32 cents to send.
Letters that are one-ounce or less, and sent to Canada or Mexico, have a five-cent increase to 85 cents a letter.
Letters sent to any other international destination have a seven-cent increase, totaling $1.05.
