The LaCrosse-Washtucna girls’ basketball team continues to struggle to get a win in the second half of the season, after losing all three of their games last week. The Lady Tigercats played a competitive game against Odessa-Harrington, but lost by a large margin against both Rosalia and Garfield-Palouse.
The Lady Tigercats fell to Odessa-Harrington after a closely matched game on Jan. 10. The game ended with a score of 33-25 in favor of the Lady Titans.
Kadie Whinery led the Lady Tigercats in scoring with a total of eight points, Alexis Hopkins scored five points and Anne Fleming scored a total of four points. Brooklynn Hostetler and Lindsey Miller scored three points each while Amber Dainty scored two points.
Logan Harder, the Lady Tigercats leading scorer for the season, did not play in the Tuesday night game due to illness.
The game remained evenly matched until the fourth quarter. At halftime, the Lady Tigercats trailed by two points, and at the end of the third quarter, trailed by only one point behind the Lady Titans.
The Lady Tigercats faced Rosalia in LaCrosse on Jan. 13, losing the game with a final score of 16-49. At halftime, the Lady Tigercats only had five points compared to the 22 points scored by the Lady Spartans.
Harder returned and led the Lady Tigercats for scoring with a total of seven points. Fleming and Hostetler both scored three points each, Whinery scored two points and Goude made one free throw.
Next, the Lady Tigercats matched up against Gar-Pal, again facing defeat with a final score of 22-44. The Lady Tigercats competed with the Lady Vikings the first half, with a halftime score of 12-19 but the gap steadily grew during the next two quarters.
Fleming led the team with six points, while Harder and Hostetler both scored four points each. Haley Dorman, Goude, Miller and Whinery all scored two points each.
