Hunter Ed course planned in Lind

Pheasants Forever will be hosting a hunter education and firearms safety class in Lind during the month of February. There is no fee to participate in the class and everyone is welcome. Any children under the age of 12 years old must have a parent or guardian attend with them. Classes will be held at the Lind Gun Club on Monday, Feb. 20, from 5-8 p.m. and continue all week at the same time. The class finishes with a field course and range day live-fire on Saturday, Feb. 25, starting at 9 a.m.

Hunter education classes are mandatory for everyone born after Jan. 1, 1972, in order to purchase a Washington Department Fish and Game Hunting license. Hunting out of Washington in other states sometimes requires a Hunter Education card, regardless of the age of the hunter.

The class is limited to the first 25 students who register. New this year, students must register online at http://my.register-ed.com/eventregistration/studentregister.

Students seeking further information may contact LeRoy Watson at (509) 677-3536.
