All-weather track, a dreams that deserves to be fulfilled

I am writing this letter to express my thanks to Project 56 and to offer my support for their projects.

As many of you know my father Harold Undeberg dreamed of upgrading our track to an all weather track. He wanted this for the athletes, but he also knew that having an all weather track would be beneficial to our community. I agree with him 100%.

As a lifelong resident of Ritzville I have experienced firsthand the support and generosity of our community. This community looks out for its young people – they are a priority. I received that support and so did my children.

I am asking today that we as a community continue to support the youth, but also reach out and support our local businesses. We can provide for both through completing the track project.

My children were all athletes, so I know for a fact how much a community can benefit from hosting a sporting event. Over the many years that we traveled to communities for my kids’ events I spent lots of money at their local businesses. I made trips to grocery stores, restaurants, fast food establishments, drug stores, gift shops, quilt shops, gas stations, and nights in their hotels. Even now that my kids have grown we continue to travel to sporting events and weekend tournaments for my nieces and nephews. So it’s not just athletes and parents, extended family and fans also travel to watch the athletes.

If we had an all weather track we could host large meets and welcome all of these athletes and their families to our community. These athletes, parents and spectators would do as I did and eat, shop and even spend the night in our community. The opportunities are wonderful!

Ritzville is a great place to live, and I am so happy that I have been able to remain here and raise my family in such a supportive community.

Please help Project 56 to complete the track project. Let’s help the kids and the businesses by supporting this project. This is such a worthwhile investment!!
