Wrong-way driver injured on I-90

A Washington State Patrol trooper responded to an early morning accident on Dec. 17, which occurred 20 miles west of Ritzville. A car travelling the wrong direction on I-90 caused the accident and drugs or alcohol were reportedly a factor.

The 22-year-old, David Palmieri, from Medical Lake had been travelling eastbound in westbound lanes when he drove onto the shoulder, lost control of his car and hit a semi truck.

Palmieri was transported to Sacred Heart by ambulance and his car was totaled and impounded at the scene.
