Robert Lloyd Gillis

Robert Lloyd ‘Bob’ Gillis was born April 14, 1924, in Spokane and returned to his Washtucna farm. He lived for 87 years until December 12, 2011.

Both of his parents, Jeannette Bolick Gillis and Lloyd Angus Gillis, are deceased. His grandparents were early Washington settlers. His mother’s (Jeanette) parents’ homestead was above Asotin, by Eli and Elvina Forgey Bolick in 1886. His father’s (Lloyd) parents were Angus and Ida Campbell Gillis who bought land in 1909 at Washtucna, where Bob grew up.
