Senator Mark Schoesler is inviting residents of the Ninth Legislative District to take part in a tele-town hall meeting Tuesday, Dec. 13.
“The more convenient I can make it for people to get involved with their government, the better, and these telephone town halls are convenient: instead of a long drive at night on icy roads, just stay at home and pick up the phone for 15 minutes, or 50 minutes, or whatever works. It’s no wonder thousands of people have ‘attended’ the meetings I’ve had by phone in the past few years,” Schoesler said.
Participants may listen in on part or all of the conversation, whether or not they ask questions; they also may take part in instant polls.
“Now is a particularly good time to meet. We can discuss how the Legislature might deal with the latest budget gap, and the governor’s plan to raise the sales tax, and what lies ahead in the special legislative session that is just under way, as well as the regular legislative session starting next month.”
Schoesler is in his second four-year term as Ninth District senator, following 12 years of service in the House of Representatives. He is a member of the Senate Ways and Means Committee and serves as half of the Senate Republican budget-negotiating team. Schoesler also is on the Senate Agriculture, Water and Rural Economic Development and Rules committees.
To participate in the community dialogue, dial 1-877-229-8493. When asked for a PIN, enter 17455. The call begins at approximately 7 p.m. and lasts for one hour.
