Heidenreich hits the Main Stage at National Convention

Chelsey Heidenreich just recently attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., from Oct. 18-22 to participate in the National FFA Talent Program.

Heidenreich participated in the Washington State FFA Convention this past May and then she had to fill out an application to be selected for the National Talent Program. There were 150 applications submitted to the National FFA Organization for the Talent Program. The National FFA selected 30 FFA members from across the nation to participate in the Talent Program. It is a very special honor to get selected.

Once Heidenreich arrived in Indianapolis she had to audition again to get placed as to which venue in the National FFA convention program that she would get to play at. Each talent member must submit a song list and a CD of their songs that they are to play while at the convention.

After Heidenreich auditioned in front of the National FFA Talent Committee the committee then ranked and placed the talent participants as to when and where they would perform.

They had approximately six different venues at which they could perform. Heidenreich was choosen to perform at the Indiana Convention Center at which the Career Success Show is held and the FFA Store. The convention center sits on 4.5 acres.

At the convention center she played on Thursday and Friday mornings. Heidenreich’s biggest honor came when she was chosen to play on the main stage of the National FFA Convention.

The National Talent Committee chose five FFA members to play on the main stage. Heidenreich played for the sixth session of the convention at which there were approximately 23,000 FFA members and guests in attendance. Heidenreich chose the song “Time of your life” to play on the main stage. In addition to Heidenreich playing in front of the large audience she also was on live National Television. RFDTV broadcasts the National FFA Convention live over satellite and cable television.

The National FFA Talent Program has been a great opportunity for Heidenreich. One of the FFA mission statements is to promote premier leadership.

This FFA event has given Heidenreich an amazing opportunity to help realize her goals and pursue her passion in the music industry.

Her FFA Advisor, Brad Gering, states “that this is what FFA is all about. Giving students the opportunity to achieve success.” Chelsey has made the best of the opportunities presented to her. FFA offers something for everyone. Chelsey encourages all students 7-12 to join the FFA and take advantage of all it has to offer.
