Special meeting called for hospital district budget

The 2012 operating budget for Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2 will be discussed and possibly approved during a special commissioners’ meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m.

While the commissioners’ regular meeting is set for two days later at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17, the panel will discuss the budget during the special session.

According to legal notice sent to The Journal, the special meeting will be held in the clinic lobby “to discuss and approve the 2012 budget for East Adams Rural Hospital.”

The legal notice also states copies of the proposed budget can be picked up by the public at the clinic during regular business hours. There was no indication in the notice that the district planned to conduct a public hearing on the proposed budget.

In 2010 the district conducted a budget hearing on the same night as its regular board meeting on Oct. 28. The budget hearing was held 30 minutes prior to the regular commissioners’ meeting. They then held a public hearing regarding the budget on Thursday, Nov. 11.
