Ritzville chamber presents community awards

The Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce honored nine citizens during its annual Community Recognition Night on Saturday, Oct. 22.

A variety of awards were presented to those who have provided outstanding service to the community or accomplished great things.

The event also serves as the chamber’s annual benefit event. This year’s auction generated a gross revenue of $9,400. After the expenses the chamber expects to net $8,000.

A portion of the proceeds will be used to cover the expense of a new website design. The chamber will also use the funds to help defray the cost of operating the Ritzville Art Gallery and staffing the city’s visitors’ center.
