With foster homes overflowing with puppies, dogs and cats, Adams County Pet Rescue is looking for good homes for the animals. The group is over run by the high volume of animals dropped off this year. If animal lovers were ever in the mood to add a new pet to the family, Saturday, Oct. 15, will be the perfect opportunity. Pet Rescue will host an Adopt-A-Thon from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2313 West Sherman Lane in Othello.
More than 100 future pets will be available for adoption, All animals are vaccinated and wormed. Animals over the age of five months have been spayed or neutered, a $200 value. Those attending the Adopt-A-Thon during the scheduled hours can adopt a pet that is five months of older for a reduced fee.
The number of puppies delivered to Adams County Pet Rescue this summer topped 65. The non-profit organization serves the entire county, rescuing dogs, cats, horses and other animals.
According to Mikki Kison, Pet Rescue currently has a total of 100 dogs including 40 puppies plus 50 cats in need of homes.
