The Tigercats were making a gallant comeback effort in the second half of their contest with Colton Friday night, but fell short in a 52-40 loss.
Colton dominated the first quarter 22-8 after the Tigercats drew first blood on a 52-yard run by Sam Harder. The Tigercats picked up a two-point conversion on a pass from Jake Aune to Matt Stubbs.
After the opening score the Tigercats’ offense was shut down while Colton scored four straight touchdowns.
In the second quarter the Tigercats were back in the end zoneon a six-yard run by Aune.
LaCrosse-Washtucna made a charge in the third quarter, scoring twice on short runs by Johnathn Holdren. He scored from one and two yards out.
He added a third touchdown on a two-yard effort in the fourth quarter. Sawyer Hostetler scored the team’s final touchdown on a one-yard jaunt.
