The Lady Broncos improved to 2-1 in league play Tuesday, defeating St. George’s in three games, 25-13, 25-22 and 25-18 in Lind.
Head coach Cari Galbreath said the match wasn’t pretty, but she was pleased to have it fall in the win column for the Lady Broncos after a tough loss to Reardan on Thursday, Sept. 29 in three games, 18-25, 18-25 and 12-25.
“It was not a super performance,” she said of Tuesday night. “ We struggled in executing and playing our game.”
Jenna Bennett finished the night with three kills, 20 assists, three aces and three digs. Kaytlin Phillips had 12 digs while Brittany Ste. Marie provided six digs. Maya Wahl finished with three kills and four digs. Sydney Nelson had four assists.
Amanda Yockey delivered one kill, two assists and one block.
Andrea Bennett finished the nights with 10 kills, one ace and seven digs. Dalyn Killian had four kills and one block. Davis Killian provided 10 kills, three aces, three digs and two blocks.
Last Thursday’s outing with Reardan was a bit tougher.
“We played competitively the first two games,” Galbreath said. “There was lot of energy on the court from both teams. In the third game we became mentally weak and couldn’t treat each new ball with a new opportunity. Each player started fighting themselves instead of fighting against the team across the net.”
