Victorian formal dress, authentic Victorian-style decorations, tea and refreshments will highlight the Ritzville Victorian Ball this Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Ritzville Grade School gymnasium.
Hosted by the Columbia River Plateau Chapter of the Victorian Society in America, the evening will feature The New Columbia Cotillian Band.
Organizers are planning for about 100 people to attend the event after sending invitations across the state in Port Townsend, Seattle, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Walla Walla areas as well as locally.
In addition, afternoon dance lessons are planned. The dance workshop begins at 1 p.m. and continues until 3 p.m. that day. The cost of the dance workshop is included in the price of the tickets.
Advance tickets for the ball are $13 for singles and $23 for couples. Tickets are available for purchase by check to CRPC-VSA, PO Box 107, Ritzville, WA 99169, at the website http://www.crpc-vsa.com by contacting Ruth Keeley or Lavonne Saunders (509) 659-0478.
At the door, tickets are $18 for singles and $30 for couples.
Victorian formal dress (1830-1910), military uniforms or semiformal attire is encouraged but is optional.
