Lady Broncos continue court wins in volleyball

Mary Walker of Springdale became the first league opponent to fall to the Lady Brocnos in volleyball. The road trip win on Saturday came in three games, 25-9, 25-15 and 25-8.

Head coach cari Galbreath said it was a long road trip, but a quick win for the Lady Broncos.

Jenna Bennett finished with five kills, 12 assists, one ace and two digs. Kaytlin Phillips had five service aces and five digs. Brittany Ste. Marie also delivered five aces and five digs.

Sydney Nelson had two assists and Maya Wahl one kill.

Amanda Yockey provided two kills and one assist. Andrea Bennett finished with five kills, one ace and two digs. Dalyn Killian had two kills, one ace and one dig. Davis Killian kicked in eight kills, two aces and three digs.

Last Thursday in a non league battle with Warden, the Lady Broncos came home the winners in four games, 25-13, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-19.

“We played well. The girls played very controlled, yet they were full of energy,” Galbreath said. “We had some slamming offensive kills. We played smart by not having too many unforced efforts.

Galbreath praised the defense.

“Collectively our defense played awesome,” she said. “We had some long rallies as our defense kept many balls in play by chasing balls down and never giving up on the ball or each other.”

Jenna Bennett finished with five kills, 24 assists, five aces and five digs. Phillips provided one kill and 22 digs.

Ste. Marie delivered one kill, one ace, and 10 digs. Wahl had three kills and two digs while Nelson had four assists and two digs. Yockey had three kills, three assists, one ace and five digs.

Andrea Bennett had eight kills, two aces and 14 digs. Dalyn Killian had seven kills, two digs and one block. Davis Killian racked up seven kills, two aces, two digs and one block.
