Hoof Beat: Student News from Ritzville Grade School

Next week the Ritzville Junior High (6-8 grade) will be joining the high school in celebrating Homecoming! The high school has specific dress-up days, but the junior high has different dress-up days for the week. Monday will feature Pajama or Crazy Hair day for the junior high. Tuesday will have Crazy Sock and Twin day. Celebrity/Sports day will be on Wednesday. Students will not have school on Thursday, so the last dress-up day is on Friday, with that being School Spirit day.

The junior high Associated Student Body (ASB) will have random prizes to give to dressed up students. The junior high is excited to be included in the festivities, and look forward to a very fun week. Please encourage your student(s) to dress up to boost school spirit! Go Broncos!!

Need something to read during these long, dark evenings? You’re in luck! The Ritzville Grade School’s annual Magazine Sale starts on Oct. 4, and will run through Tuesday, Oct. 18.

This is an important fundraiser that supports many ASB activities, as well as paying for referees for all the football, volleyball and basketball games.

Students may contact you in person, on the phone or through an e-mail account set up for the magazine sale! If you have any questions, please call Jamie in the grade school office at 659-0232.

Thank you for supporting your school!

Two weeks ago the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague junior high football team had their first game in Davenport and won! The score was 20-14.

The Broncos defense is really strong this year. Andrew Witt and Jacob Saetre got the Broncos touchdowns to win the game, but they wouldn’t have been able to get the touchdowns without the big blocks that the offense makes. The Broncos’ powerful defense includes Dallas Killian, Alexis Guizar, Skyler Oestreich, Ryan Frederick and Dane Wahl.

On Thursday, Sept. 22, the Ritzville Broncos lost their football game to Liberty with a score of 6-28. Despite the score, the game was not as bad as the score reflected.

Jacob Saetre scored the only touchdown. Dane Wahl was also injured in the third quarter. The Broncos plan on destroying the Liberty Lancers when they meet again on Oct. 24.

Today is a bye game, so the Broncos won’t be playing.
