Down home fun highlights Lind chamber shindig

A live auction and a full meal deal are on tap at the Lind Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Auction this Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Lind Grange Hall.

Area residents will gather for a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner of roast beef with balsamic mushrooms and sweet onions, glazed chicken tenders with sliced almonds, garlic mashed potatoes, country green beans with bacon, green salad with fresh vegetables and peach cobble with ice cream catered by Cathy Jo’s Catering of Lind at 6:30 p.m.

Topping the list of auction items is an excursion to Cameo Heights Mansion Bed and Breakfast as well as tickets to Dwight Yoakum with one night at Northern Quest.

Other auction highlights include a trout fishing package on Lake Roosevelt and tickets to a Tri-City Americans hockey game.

Rounding out the list is a pink wagon from Evergreen Implement, Inc., in Ritzville, double seat patio bench from H & P Rustic Art, hand-painted coffee table from Grumpy’s Paintbrush, two tickets to Spamalot at the INB from Union Elevator and Warehouse Company, Sweets by Scrooge, Shock tickets, a pie every other month by Carla Bengtson and donated by the Lind Senior Center, four tickets to Ellensburg PCRA Rodeo from Larry Koch and more.

The dinner and auction is the organization’s only fundraiser. The chamber provides scholarships to local seniors as well as supports the senior center and spearheads numerous community projects.

The chamber also sponsors the Christmas parade/chili feed in December and the derby parade in June.

Advance tickets are $18 and available by contacting the chamber at 677-3655 or e-mail at [email protected] as well as from any chamber member, at Jim’s Market or Chatterbox Salon. Tickets are $20 at the door.
