Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887
H.E. Gritman Senior Center has worked with Jim Wyma of J. Wyma Enterprises to update its computers. The center is now accepting public input as to what type of classes would most benefit people in the community.
Tentatively classes would be twice a week for one hour each day, one hour for classroom and one hour as a lab.
Cost would be $20 per month. A tentative time has been set from 9-10 a.m.
The classes will start with “turning on the switch” to learning the Internet, some programs right down to how to protect computer systems.
“Since computers have and continue to become more a part of our daily lives,” said Shirley Markum, spokesman for the senior center, “this is one way the center can help in our community. We need to hear from you.”
Several options are available to let the center know your wishes. You may leave a voice mail at the center by calling 659-1921, stop by on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., leave a note on the clipboard provided on the front desk or e-mail Markum at [email protected].
Computers have been provided by Area Aging for this opportunity. Interest or lack thereof will depend whether the center will be able to keep the computers and grow this program or not.
