Stephen M. Clippinger entered a guilty plea to one count of second-degree taking of a vehicle without permission in a case filed on April 25, 2011. Judge Richard W. Miller in Adams County Superior Court sentenced Clippinger to 30 days in the Adams County Jail. Miller ordered Clippinger to pay $500 crime victim assessment, $200 criminal filing fee, $30 sheriff’s service fees, $350 court-appointed attorney and $500 fine. No supervision was ordered.

On March 10, 2011, Brandon Lynn Pierce pled guilty to one count of residential burglary in a case originally filed on May 10, 2010. His charge data and sentence data was entered or modified on Aug. 23, 2011. Pierce was sentenced to 23 months with the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC). Judge Miller ordered Pierce to pay $500 crime victim assessment, $200 criminal filing fee, $30 sheriff’s fees, $350 court-appointed attorney, $500 fine and $3,912.95 restitution.

Timothy Jacob Riojas pled guilty to one count of forgery in a case filed on July 21, 2009. Riojas was sentenced to 30 days in the Adams County Jail with credit for time previously served on Count 1, to run consecutively with another case. Confinement shall commence within 60 days. Judge Miller ordered Riojas to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 clerk’s filing fee, $65 sheriff’s fee, $350 attorney fees and $500 fine. No supervision was ordered.
Jared Matthew Miller entered a guilty plea to one count of criminal solicitation in a case filed on Sept. 24, 2009. Judge Miller sentenced Jared Miller to 365 days with 355 suspended in the Adams County Jail with credit for time previously served. Jared Miller has the option to convert 10 days of confinement to 80 hours of community service. Jared Miller will be on unsupervised probation for a period of two years, and confinement is to commence by Oct. 22, 2011. He is responsible to pay $200 clerk’s filing fee, $500 victim assessment, $30 sheriff’s fee and $500 fine.
The sentence was signed for Cornelio Isaac Mendoz Maltos, who was found not guilty of one count of a controlled substance violation and guilty on one count of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription by the court on Aug. 16, 2011, in a case filed on March 23, 2010. Judge Miller sentenced Maltos to 45 days in jail, which may be converted to EHD. Maltos was ordered to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 criminal filing fee, $320 sheriff’s fees, $350 court-appointed attorney, $1,000 fine, $250 Adams County Drug Fund, $125 crime lab fee and $100 DNA collection fee.
The sentence was signed for Timothy Jacob Riojas, who pled guilty to one count of first-degree robbery on March 1, 2010. The case was originally filed on Sept. 8, 2009. Riojas was sentenced to 12 months in the Adams County Jail with credit for time previously served. The court found substantial and compelling reason to justify an exceptional sentence below the standard range. A permanent no-contact order was entered. Riojas is responsible to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 clerk’s filing fee, $30 sheriff’s fee, $350 attorney fees, $500 fine and $125 crime lab fee. No supervision was ordered.

Darrell Frederick Smith pled guilty to one count of second-degree burglary in a case filed on Feb. 15, 2011. Judge Miller sentenced Smith to 60 days in the custody of the DOC with credit for time served. Smith was ordered to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 clerk’s fee, $341 sheriff’s fee, $350 attorney fee, $500 fine and $125 crime lab fee. Restitution will be determined.

Tony Orlando Cantu was convicted by a jury on June 15, 2011, on one count of possession of a stolen vehicle (Count 1), one count of first-degree criminal trespass (Count 2) and one count of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm (Count 3) in a case filed on April 23, 2010. Judge David Frazier sentenced Cantu to 57 months on Count 1; 365 days on Count 2; and 116 months on Count 3 in the custody of the DOC for a total of 116 months concurrent with an Adams County case. Cantu is responsible to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 clerk’s filing fee and $355 sheriff’s fee.
A jury on April 19, 2011, convicted Tony Orlando Cantu of unlawful drug paraphernalia use in a case filed on Oct. 7, 2010. Cantu withdrew a guilty plea of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Judge Frazier sentenced Cantu to 24 months confinement with DOC to run concurrent with another Adams County case. Cantu was ordered to pay $500 crime victim compensation and $200 criminal filing fee, $190.50 sheriff’s fees. The withdrawn guilty plea was dismissed with prejudice.

Willie James Collado entered a guilty plea on one count of first-degree robbery (Count 1) and one count of second-degree assault with the intent to commit a felony (Count 4) in a case originally filed on Jan. 8, 2010. Judge Miller sentenced Collado to 129 months on Count 1 and 84 months on Count 4 for a total of 129 months with DOC; 18 months of community custody. Collado is responsible for paying $500 crime victim assessment, $200 criminal filing fee, $123 sheriff’s fees, $350 court-appointed attorney, $500 fine and $125 crime lab fee.

Eliodoro Arcate pled guilt to one count of bail jumping in a case originally filed on Jan. 15, 2002. Judge Miller sentenced Arcate to eight months in the Adams County Jail. Arcate was ordered to pay $500 victim assessment, $110 clerk’s fee, $230 sheriff’s fee and $500 fine.

In a case filed on March 7, 2011, Hernan Montemayor pled guilty to one count of third-degree assault with bodily harm. Judge Miller sentenced Montemayor to three months in the Adams County Jail with the option to serve a portion in EHD with credit for time previously served. Confinement was to commence within 60 days. Montemayor was ordered to pay $500 victim assessment, $200 clerk’s filing fee, $30 sheriff’s fee, $350 attorney fees and $500 fine. A no-contact order was issued.
