Lady Tigercats fall to Garfield/Palouse in season opener

Under the direction of a new head coach, the Lady Tigercats of LaCrosse-Washtucna struggled on the court for the first match of the season last week.

Garfield-Palouse opened with a 25-21 win in the first set on the LaCrosse court. The Lady Tigercats answered in the second, narrowly logging a 26-24 victory.

The Garfield-Palouse Lady Vikings finished off the evening with a 25-15 win for the third set and a 25-20 win in the final set.

Logan Harder finished the night with 15 kills, three aces and five digs. For the night, Anne Fleming provided 18 assists while Kadie Whinery had two blocks.

Head coach Sarah Mayer said, “I am pleased with the girls’ consistent serves and their teamwork. They are working very well as a team. We need to work on serve receive. I will be moving some girls around to strengthen our team.”
