Downtown Ritzville is the site for the annual health fair this Saturday, Sept. 10. Hosted by the Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2 and sponsored by East Adams County Healthcare Foundation, Premera, Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington and Coast to Coast Healthcare Services, the day features vendors and activities that will fill Pioneer Plaza and Railroad Avenue from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participants to date include Adams County Health Department, Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2 volunteer ambulance associations, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Aging & Adult Care of Central Washington, ALS Association, Big Bend Electric Cooperative, Birth and Baby, Central Basin Home Health, CIGNA, Coast to Coast Healthcare, Community Choice (SHIBA), Costco, Deaconess Medical Center, David Engen DDS, Hand to Health Therapeutic Massage, HugLoveSave, Inland Northwest Blood Center, Dr. Warren Kragt, Chiropractor, Life Care Center of Ritzville, Lifeline, Lincare, Molina Healthcare, New Hope Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Services, Northwest MedStar, Ritzville Police Department, Rose Garden Estates, Sacred Heart Medical Center Women’s Health, St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, Susan G. Komen For The Cure, Von Tracy DDS and the Washington State Patrol.
Highlights include:
Youth Activities
• “Kids Dance Central” – An X-box activity where kids follow along with the dance moves. Kerry Suarez, PT, will lead this. She will have participants stretch and warm up before the activity as well as discuss the importance of exercise.
• Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest – Held on Railroad Avenue, this is for all school age kids. All participants will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone and winners will be selected in each age category.
Activities
• Child Car Seat Give Away - The EMT Associations will give away two child car seats donated by First Avenue Storage. Entry forms for the drawing are at the EMT table.
• Reduced Fee Labs – Special Pricing is available on Saturday. Includes free Lipid Panels, $10 General Health Screen: CBC, Chemistry Panel, Lipid Profile
• Bone Density Testing – Provided by Providence Sacred Heart Women’s Health Center. $5 fee for the testing.
• Massage Therapy – Hand to Health Therapeutic Massage and Natalie Greenwalt will offer mini massages.
• Free Hearing Testing – Provided by Costco
• Inland Northwest Blood Center Blood Drive – For appointments call 659-5404.
• Blood Pressure Checks – East Adams Rural Hospital
• Vendor Treasure Hunt – Everyone will receive a card with all the vendors’ names on it. When they visit the vendor or activity they will get a sticker. When the card is full of stickers they turn it in for a drawing for a flat screen TV donated by Washington State Rural Hospital Insurance Trust.
Food
• Ritzville Festivals Association – Selling hotdogs, kraut runzas and drinks.
• Andy’s Fruit and Produce – Fresh fruit and vegetables for sale at the corner of Main Avenue and Washington Street.
