17-year-old killed in Sunday one-vehicle rollover

A one-vehicle rollover accident claimed the life of a 17-year-old male from Auburn Sunday afternoon on Interstate 90 at milepost 219.

The accident occurred at 2:43 p.m. as Diane M. Vanquill, 44, was heading westbound in a 1996 Ford station wagon when the left rear tire failed, causing the vehicle to rollover onto the westbound shoulder.

Vanquill and four passengers were transported to East Adams Rural Hospital. She, Ryan P. Vanquill, 42, and an 11-year-old male were wearing seatbelts but two other juveniles – ages 15 and 11 years – were not.
