Women’s Bible study returns in September

This fall, the women of Benge, Lind, Ritzville and the surrounding area will gather together for a Bible study by Beth Moore, “Stepping Up… a journey through the Psalms of Ascent.” The teaching DVD is a study of Psalms 120-134. }

This non-denominational study will be held in the basement of the Ritzville Foursquare Church at 204 East Second Avenue.

All women are invited to attend and bring friends.

Because of the number of women who attended last year, two weekly meeting times are available this year:

• Monday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m., Sept. 12 through Dec. 12

• Tuesday afternoons from 1-3 p.m., Sept. 13 through Dec. 13

Childcare is provided at the afternoon session.

Approximate cost of the study book is $15.

Women who plan to attend are asked to contact Amy Galbreath at 659-0778, leaving a message with name and contact number, so member study books can be ordered.

“No matter who you are or where you’ve been, this study is for you,” Galbreath said in an e-mail to The Ritzville Journal on Aug. 22. “You don’t need any religious training or previous Bible study to participate in this journey. At the same time, the psalms will challenge the serious student of God’s Word to take the next step with God.”

Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms included in the study on the way to the great festivals of the Lord and as key elements of the worship at those festivals.

Explore the major feast of Israel and journey with Moore through the study. Themes of unity, joy, gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule and more are explored in detail.

Moore has written many best-selling Bible studies on Esther, David, Moses, Paul, Isaiah, Daniel, John and Jesus. Her books “Breaking Free,” “Praying God’s Word” and “When Godly People Do Ungodly Things” have all focused on the battle Satan is waging against Christians.

“Believing God,” “Loving Well” and “Living Beyond Yourself” have focused on how Christians can live triumphantly in today’s world.

Moore is an active member of First Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. The wife of Keith, mother of two young adult daughters and grandmother to two, she serves a worldwide audience through Living Proof Ministry. Her conference ministry, writing and videos reach millions of people each year.
