Tourneys keep golfers busy at Ritzville course

The Member/Guest Tournament held at the Ritzville Municipal Golf Course on July 24 featured 22 individuals.

Taking first place for the event were Jerry Crossler and Frank Durham with a net 54. Two teams tied for second place with a net 55: Paul Schwisow/Matt Schwisow and Ozzie Morley/Bob Wiitala.

Taking fifth place was the partnering of Ronna Galbreath and Greg Galbreath with a net 57.

Rounding out the top scorers were the duo of Brian Gordon and Karl Kupers, who tied with Tony Vostral and Neil Gallion for fifth place with a net 60.

Other teams included Maynard Lund/Ron Grams, Emily Gordon/Lexie Kupers, Cory Morley/Logan Morley, Dan Haarstad/Ron Sisk and Rod Fletcher/Mike Lynch.

Logan Morley picked up the award for closest to the pin on No. 2 with a distance of 7’10”. Ron Grams was second with a distance of 4’3” on No. 4; Ozzie Morley, 11.75” on No. 11; and Paul Schwisow, 4’2” on No. 13.

The golf course is the site for three upcoming events. The Twilight/Glow Ball Tournament is slated for Saturday, Aug. 13.

The format features a four-person scramble with the first nine holes teeing off at 6 p.m. A break for dinner is planned prior to starting the final nine holes at dark.

Cost is $50 per person plus greens fees and includes glow balls, dinner and drink. Organizers encourage golfers to sign up now so supplies can be ordered in time for the event.

In addition, the Women’s Invitational is Aug. 15 and the Digs Tournament is Aug. 20-21.
