Adams County Sheriff's Report

July 11, 10:34 p.m. – Complainant advised a subject spun brodies in a driveway on East Hatton Road, Lind. Dep. Jeff Lane attempted to find the subject but was unable to locate.

July 11, 8:59 p.m. – Dep. Lane found an end gun shooting water over the roadway at North Batum and West Rosenoff Roads, Ritzville. The possible owner was contacted.

July 11, 8:55 p.m. – Deputies Ben Buriak and Lane contacted subjects involved in an incident at the Lind pool and determined no threats were made.

July 11, 6:36 p.m. – Deputies Buriak and Lane contacted a vehicle and its occupants at West Griffith and North Kulm Roads, Odessa. The subjects advised of loading up scrap iron from the area into a trailer. Buriak contacted the responsible individual for the property, who advised of not pressing trespassing charges against the subjects for what they had collected but that they needed to stay out from now on.

July 11, 5:05 p.m. – Dep. Buriak contacted a complainant on West Tokio Road, Odessa, about a citizen dispute. Buriak advised the complainant of options regarding a court order.

July 11, 1:32 p.m. – A Madras, Ore., complainant advised of a vehicle breaking down in a parking lot on West First Avenue in Ritzville. Complainant further advised that someone would pick up the vehicle within the week.

July 11, 12:36 p.m. – Dep. Dan Verhey observed a vehicle parked on the county right-of-way in the area of Highway 26 and the old SR 26, Washtucna. Upon return after a theft call, Verhey checked the area and the vehicle was gone.

July 11, 10:19 a.m. – A Benge complainant advised of the theft of two dirt bikes from a building on South Mack Road. Dep. Verhey contacted the complainant and collected information. The vehicles were entered into the WACIC/NCIC as stolen.

July 11, 9:50 a.m. – Complainant advised of stolen farm equipment on South Neilson Road, Lind. Dep. Verhey contacted the complainant.

July 11, 9:11 a.m. – WSP requested assistance with a trooper not answering a status check at milepost 230 on I-90, Sprague. Prior to Dep. Verhey responding, the trooper answered.

July 10, 10:35 a.m. – Dep. Lane was advised of dogs barking in the 300 block of West Main Street in Lind. Lane responded and contacted a family member, who advised of taking care of the animals and checking on them.

July 10, 3:10 a.m. – Dep. Aaron Madison assisted Ritzville officer Mark Cameron with a domestic assault call at East 10th Avenue and South Division Street. Cameron arrested the female suspect and booked her into jail.

July 9, 7:52 a.m. – Dep. Madison contacted a subject who was sleeping in a vehicle in the middle of the roadway on East Tokio Road, Ritzville. Someone arrived to move the vehicle and transport the subject home.

July 8, 11:32 p.m. – Dep. Lane, Dep. Madison and Sgt. Flynn assisted the City of Ritzville with an assault at North Marcellus and East Tokio Roads, and shots were fired.

July 8, 3:38 p.m. – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office advised a vehicle was seen leaving a dump pile in the area of North Kulm and West Arlt Roads, Odessa. Dep. Lane checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

July 8, 2:08 p.m. – A Pasco complainant advised a subject who lives in Lind had been texting, calling and e-mailing in the past weeks and making harassing statements. After investigating the complaint, Dep. Verhey found the subject was not involved.

July 7, 11:49 p.m. – A Moses Lake complainant called dispatch and advised of a situation involving her vehicle and a driver who was arrested. Dispatch was unable to obtain all information and contacted Multi-Agency Communications Center, who was familiar with the subject and situation.

July 7, 11:09 p.m. – A Lind complainant in the 200 block of East Fifth Street advised of two juveniles knocking on the door and then running off laughing. Dep. Madison checked the area but didn’t observe anyone walking around.

July 7, 11:04 p.m. – Dep. Madison assisted with traffic control and removing tire debris as subjects changed a tire on a trailer at milepost 79 on northbound U.S. 395. Madison cleared once the tire was changed.

July 7, 4:48 p.m. – Complainant on South Longmeier Road, Lind, advised the theft of an item from the mailbox. The item was reshipped and arrived, but appears to have been tampered with. Dep. Verhey attempted to contact the complainant.

July 7, 1:48 a.m. – An unknown female complainant advised of being kicked out of a vehicle about five minutes from Ritzville headed toward Seattle. Dep. Madison checked the area of Highway 26 and Lemaster Road based on a location check on the cell phone while Dep. Lane checked the area of milepost 215 of westbound I-90. All units were unable to locate the subject.

July 6, 4:15 p.m. – Complainant requested a deputy standby to ensure the peace on East Tokio Road, Ritzville.

July 6, 2:57 p.m. – A Lolo, Mont., complainant advised of losing a purse possible at the westbound Schrag rest area.

July 6, 10:40 a.m. – Complainant advised that dogs in the 300 block of West Main Street in Lind are not being cared for. It was determined that a family in the area are watering and feeding the dogs.

July 6, 1:33 a.m. – Complainant advised of a stolen firearm on East Tokio Road, Ritzville. The firearm was entered into the WACIC/NCIC as stolen.

July 5, 11:16 p.m. – Dep. Lane arrested Megan Renee Jones for domestic violence on East Tokio Road, Ritzville.

July 5, 1:50 p.m. – A complainant on North Batum Road in Odessa again reported items missing from a previous report.

July 5, 7:57 a.m. – Dep. Verhey attempted to contact a complainant who advised of not receiving a share of the profits after recycling scrap metal on East Weber Road between Fox and Moody Roads.

July 4, 11:54 p.m. – Dep. Lane assisted a subject with moving a vehicle from the intersection of U.S. 395 and East Cunningham Road to a different location.

July 4, 10:12 p.m. – Dep. Lane contacted subjects who were setting off fireworks in the 300 block of East Fourth Street in Lind. A consensus was reached to put the fireworks away for the night.

July 4, 7:37 p.m. – Dep. Lane transported a subject who was having car troubles and had no license from milepost 92 on U.S. 395 to Ritzville.

July 4, 10:01 a.m. – Dep. Verhey contacted a dog owner on North I Street in Lind after a complainant advised the dog was tied up and had no water. The owner advised that children were playing and kicked over the water. Verhey advised the dog owner of the importance of keeping water for the dog.

July 3, 11:43 p.m. – Dep. Lane checked the area of East Booth Avenue in Washtucna for fireworks being shot but was unable to locate.

July 3, 3:53 p.m. – Complainant advised of a male subject walking on Rosenoff Road near Schoonover Road and noted the subject looked distressed. Sgt. Flynn drove the area west to S.R. 21 and north on Schoonover to Davis Road but was unable to locate anyone.

July 3, 10:41 a.m. – Dep. Buriak contacted an Odessa area resident on North Batum Road who had locked the keys inside a running vehicle and provided phone numbers for local locksmiths. Complainant called back at 7 p.m. and advised the car was still running with the keys locked inside. Sgt. Flynn responded but did not attempt to unlock the vehicle because it had side air bags. While on site, the complainant voiced concern about backhoe tracks in the yard and not knowing why they were there.

July 3, 3:12 a.m. – Sgt. Flynn contacted a disabled vehicle with a flat tire on Danekas Road near East Rehn Road, Ritzville. The vehicle was parked on the shoulder for the evening and removed later in the day.
