Ritzville golf league ends season play

The Ritzville golf league wrapped up the 2011 season recently as 11 teams vied for first place.

In first place with 1,187 net strokes is Team 3 of Bruce Benzel, Ronna Galbreath, Gayle Gering, Randy Moore and Travis Simonson.

Team 1 placed second with 1202 net strokes. Team members were Warren Kragt, JoRene Zumdahl, Gerry Schoesler, Greg Schmunk and Mike Lynch.

Team 2, third place, 1205 net strokes, Ozzie Morley, Arnie Moeller, Terry Olson, Markham Nichols and Dean Whitman.

Team 6, fourth place, 1208 net strokes, Rod Kinch Jr., Maynard Lund, Bob Wiitala, Mike Bauer and Ron Kison.

Team 8, fifth place, 1220 net strokes, Kirk Danekas, Larry Kison, Mark Heider, Rich Allert and Gary Galbreath.

Team 5, sixth place, 1228 net strokes, Brian Gordon, Jim Leffel, Alan Thompson, Bob Clinesmith and Paul Simonson.

Team 11, seventh place, 1231 net strokes, Tim Wellsandt, Joe Kinch, Mike Nichols, Jeff Holland and Mark Weigand.

Team 10, eighth place, 1243 net strokes, Greg Galbreath, Ron Grams, Dennis Wellsandt, Jim Heider and Jeff Snider.

Team 4, ninth place, 1251 net strokes, Steve McPherson, Tony Vostral, Butch Gering, Don McBride and Paul Schwisow.

Team 7, 10th place, 1251 net strokes, Dan Duff, Jason Ste. Marie, Kristian Boness, Dave Powers and Clete Galbreath.

Team 9, 11th place, 1289 net strokes, Scott Cave, Jerry Crossler, Ken Reams, Jerry Neilan and Mike Geschke.

During the league ending nine-hole scramble on July 13, 13 two-person teams vied for top honors, including two chip offs for the first/second and fourth/fifth places.

Kris Boness and Dennis Wellsandt won the chip off for first place against Mike Bauer and Brian Gordon. Both teams shot a 33.

Third place went to Mark Heider and Mike Lynch with a 34.

The team of Jerry Crossler and Dave Powers won the chip off for fourth place, bumping Jerry Neilan and Dean Whitman into fifth place.

Both teams shot a 36.

Joe Kinch and Larry Kison shot a 36 as did the team of Kirk Danekas and Randy Moore as well as Steve McPherson and Paul Schwisow.

Shooting a 37 were the teams of Ozzie Morley/Bob Clinesmith and Maynard Lund/Terry Olson.

Cory Morley and Ron Kison had a 38. Tim Wellsandt and Ken Reams shot a 40 while Tony Vostral and Gayle Gering had a 41.

Neilan had the long putt on No. 4 and Ozzie Morley had the long putt on No. 6.
