Sterling Savings launches annual Backpacks for Kids program drive

Sterling Savings Bank in Ritzville will once again sponsor its Backpacks For Kids drive for Ritzville students on Monday, July 25. The drive will continue until Aug. 19.

Sterling Savings Bank provides a backpack for each grade level in the Ritzville Grade School. Through community donations and support, bank employees prepare a backpack for each grade level with all the needed supplies based on the supply list. Extra donations are boxed up and taken to the school.

Supply lists are available at the bank, located at 108 East First Avenue. Included on the list are: backpacks, water bottles, pencil boxes, scissors, eight-count crayons, anti-bacterial wet wipes, headphones for computer, facial tissue, black dry-erase markers, highlighters, pocket folder, subject dividers, three-ring binders, wide-ruled notebook paper, jumbo book covers, Five-Star notebooks, spiral note cards and compasses.

Anyone wishing to participate may drop off donated items at the bank or at Ritzville Drug Company on West Main Avenue.
