July 2, 1:04 a.m. – Complainant advised of vehicles squealing their tires in the area of West First Street in Lind. Dep. Aaron Madison checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicles.
July 1, 11:23 a.m. – Dep. Dan Verhey stopped Philip Clayton Nickle for speeding on northbound U.S. 395 at milepost 74. On contact, a warrant was found and Nickle was booked for the warrant.
June 29, 3:17 p.m. – Dep. Ryan Haring attempted to stop a vehicle for traveling 95 mph in a 70 mph zone on eastbound I-90 at milepost 229 but the vehicle failed to stop. Dispatch advised the vehicle was stolen out of Idaho. The vehicle lost control and wrecked near milepost 229. Adam Lee Cook was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Cook was booked for a federal warrant, attempting to elude, vehicular assault, possession of a stolen vehicle and first-degree possession of stolen property after being released from East Adams Rural Hospital. A female passenger was injured in the accident. She was transported to EARH and later transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
June 29, 3:07 p.m. – Complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle on West Arlt Road, Ritzville. The vehicle was determined to be related to an incident earlier that day.
June 29, 11:07 a.m. – Dep. Verhey contacted a subject who had wondered on foot away from a vehicle on North Durry Road, Ritzville. A relative picked up the subject. The vehicle was later discovered in a field, and would be retrieved the following day.
June 29, 8:58 a.m. – Big Bend Electric Cooperative of Mesa advised of vehicles spinning circles and going in and out of the roadway on Bronson Street in Hatton causing a traffic hazard. Dep. Haring contacted a male subject who advised of a verbal situation that he was going to respond to but didn’t. The subject denied spinning circles in the road. Haring gave a warning and advised the subject to let the comments go and move on.
June 29, 12:48 a.m. – Complainant advised of cattle out on East Wellsandt Road, Ritzville. The owner put the cows back in.
June 28, 7:58 p.m. – Complainant in the 700 block of North I Street in Lind advised of receiving numerous text and Facebook messages from a subject in Arizona. Complainant was advised to contact the court and obtain a no-contact order.
June 28, 7:13 p.m. – Dispatch received a 911 call from a VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) line on West Harder Road, Warden, but was unable to call back. Persons in charge were to check the area and call back if any assistance was needed.
June 28, 10:02 a.m. – Dep. Verhey contacted a complainant on North Batum Road, Odessa, who reported several items were stolen from the property. The information was the same as provided on June 26.
June 27, 3:53 p.m. – The Ritzville Police Department requested assistance in identifying a suspect in a shoplifting case in the 600 block of West First Avenue. Dep. Buriak identified the subject.
June 26, 9:26 p.m. – Complainant on North Batum Road, Odessa, advised of a burglary.
June 26, 8:46 p.m. – Dep. Jeff Lane provided a subject with a jump start in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way.
June 26, 10:39 a.m. – Dep. Ben Buriak contacted subjects involved in an assault on North Durry Road and determined a report would be filed with the prosecutor’s office for review.
June 20, 4:21 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a disorderly inmate in booking at the Adams County Jail.
June 25, 5:22 p.m. – Complainant advised of a near collision on North I Street in Lind that caused a verbal argument between both drivers.
June 25, 3:38 p.m. – Central Basin Home Health of Moses Lake advised of a death on East Rehn Road, Ritzville.
June 25, 9:58 a.m. – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office advised of subject at the Hatton rest area who might need assistance. Dep. Buriak located and contacted the subject, who advised prescription medications were taken and was not able to drive. Buriak contacted the spouse, who picked the subject up.
June 25, 7:44 a.m. – Dep. Buriak responded to a non-injury single vehicle collision in the 200 block of North Neilson Avenue in Lind.
June 24, 10:21 p.m. – A Spokane complainant advised of two subjects fighting on I-90 at milepost 235 near Sprague. The WSP arrived on the scene and it was determined no assault occurred. The vehicle was disabled and WSP provided assistance.
June 24, 4:04 p.m. – Complainant advised of finding litter on Highway 261 near Washtucna.
June 24, 12:26 p.m. – Adams County Fire Protection District No. 2 (Lind) requested that Dep. Verhey respond to the area of West Lind-Warden and North Howard Roads due to a large fire and the roadway being obscured. Verhey responded and found the fire had burned down. Smoke was minimal at the time and it appeared the fire wouldn’t start again.
June 23, 7:33 p.m. – Complainant advised of a portable toilet on a trailer in the middle of the roadway in the area of North Dewald and East Heinemann Roads, Ritzville. Dep. Madison contacted the driver who removed it from the middle of the road.
June 23, 6:03 a.m. – A Chetek, Wis., complainant advised of a subject with medical issues who stayed at a truck stop on West First Avenue in Ritzville the previous night. The subject had agreed to call the complainant back this morning, but hadn’t. Complainant later called and advised the subject was in Montana.
June 22, 11:54 p.m. – Dep. Madison arrested Kevin Scott Leyva for driving under the influence on U.S. 395 at milepost 79.
June 22, 7:13 p.m. – Complainant advised of a suspicious or foul odor from the area of South Cherry Lane in Washtucna. Dep. Madison checked the area but was unable to locate the cause.
June 22, 4:35 p.m. – A Rochester, Wash., complainant advised of a non-injury accident at South Lind-Hatton and West Hatton Roads. Dispatch advised a piece of farm equipment struck a parked vehicle. Dep. Haring responded and collected information from both parties.
June 22, 1:39 p.m. – Complainant advised the sheriff’s office that an individual would be staying in the 700 block of East Booth Avenue in Washtucna during the week due to living out of the area.
June 22, 10:11 a.m. – Complainant located an individual’s wallet on the fuel pumps on West First Street in Lind. The wallet owner was contacted and advised the item would be at the sheriff’s office.
June 21, 11:35 p.m. – Dep. Lane arrested Andrew Scott Christofferson for reckless driving on U.S. 395 at milepost 80.
June 21, 9:48 p.m. – Dep. Lane assisted the ambulance crew with a possibly combative subject on West Third Street in Lind. The subject calmed down prior to police and ambulance arriving. It was determined the issue was related to a medical condition.
June 21, 9:23 p.m. – Dep. Lane removed tire debris off of U.S. 395 at milepost 84.
June 21, 12:51 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of a burglary on North Main Street in the last few days.
June 20, 8:10 p.m. – A county unit assisted with a minor injury collision at milepost 76 on Highway 26 near Washtucna until the WSP arrived.
