Burning season to end soon

Open burning within Adams County and Ritzville city limits will close at dusk on Sunday, June 26, according to Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 Chief Scott Kembel and Ritzville Fire Chief Andy Lefevre.

No open fires for the burning of vegetation or other matter are permitted. Burning season will remain closed until some time in the fall.

The chiefs also remind citizens that as drying conditions become more severe to take extra care with barbecues, cigarettes and, as the Fourth of July approaches, fireworks. Any type of outdoor fire requires extra care.
