    SPOKANE – The Broncos girls fastpitch softball season came to an end Saturday, May 20, at the hands of a familiar foe. The Jenkins Cougars from Chewelah edged the local Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls, 3-1, in a loser-out, consolation round game in the District 7 Class 2B tournament at the Merkel Sports Complex.     RITZVILLE – The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse boys and girls track teams competed in the Class 1B Districts 7 and 9 meet, Wednesday, May 10, with individuals hoping to qualify for regionals. The Eagle girls finished sixth overall with 52.5 points; Garfield-Palouse was first with 144, Oakesdale second with 126 and Odessa third with 102.     RITZVILLE – The Broncos tennis team was edged by St. George’s School , 3-4, last week. The loss came after the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague players were swept by the Jenkins (Chewelah) Cougars. Against St. George’s, Carlie Loop, Cameron Christianson and Megan Rivers each notched individual wins. Loop needed three matches to top Kalea Schlenker, 6-6, 7-5, 6-2. Baseball is a different game since March 16, 2020 when spring training was suspended and the Major and Minor Leagues were put on hold.
