    Herbert Alfred Smith, 86, was born on Nov. 18, 1928 in Lind, and died on Nov. 19, in Spokane, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. Herbert was a Spokane area resident for 60 years. He graduated from high school in Ritzville in 1948. Herbert later joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
