Mike Haase, 81, died peacefully in Moses Lake on Nov. 14. Mike was born July 22, 1934 on the family farm outside Ralston. He was the son of John and Clarissa Haase. After graduating from Lind High School, Mike was drafted and served in the army for two years, stationed in Fort Lewis. Barbara J (Snider) Steinmetz, 64, died November 3, after a courageous battle with pneumonia. She died peacefully in Ritzville. She was born October 2, 1951 in Spokane, the daughter of Jimmie and Glenna (Hawkins) Snider. After graduating from Ritzville High School in 1970, Barbara attended WSU and Kinman Business College. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Pat Burroughs, of Ritzville; her son, Russell ‘Butch’ Burroughs, of Spokane; and her grandchildren Michelle Rigney of Port Orchard, Todd Burroughs of Atlanta, GA and Tanya Hart of Tracy, CA. Nova (Chevy) Jeanine Dunning died on Saturday, Oct. 24, at East Adams Care Center with her daughter by her side. Chevy was born on Dec. 31, 1929, to John and Bertha Golihugh in Amarillo, Texas. Her grandchildren remember her telling the story of how her family moved from Amarillo to San Diego in a covered wagon, as it was in the middle of the Great Depression.
