The Lind-Ritzville School Boards of Directors unanimously approved the athletic combine agreement for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague-Lamont/Washtucna-Kahlotus during the May 29 meeting. During the meeting, the Directors also unanimously approved to add cross country as an official sport offered through the high school programs. The athletic combine agreement shows the high school sports programs shall be referred to as Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos, while middle school sports will be identified as Lind-Ritzville/Lamont Bulldogs....

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague tennis season came to a close on May 19 at the Regional Tournament. The Broncos had five athletes qualify to compete at the tournament and battled for the chance to make it the State Championships. In the singles contest, Claire Kessler played two competitive sets against two Freeman athletes. The Northwest Regional College Rodeo Finals were recently held in Hermiston, Oregon. Tommi Sue Swannack, a recent graduate of Sprague High School, won the Regional Goat Tying Championship to claim a saddle. She also placed third in the overall Breakaway Roping to seal her spot to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo in both events in June in Casper, Wyoming. Bernice Mable Dellinger-Kanzler (81) moved on to her heavenly home, joining her husband, Ken on April 28, 2018, in Moses Lake surrounded by family. Bernice was born on February 10, 1937, in Yakima, Washington, to LeRoy and Mabel Dellinger. Bernice married Kenneth Kanzler on September 6, 1957 in Lind, Washington and went to live on a farm near Connell, Washington.
