    RITZVILLE — The Bronco girls are off to a perfect start of the 2024 fastpitch sofball season. Last week, they topped Newport in a doubleheader and then defeated Kettle Falls. In the home-opening game of the season against Newport on Tuesday, March 19, senior Harlee Hennings had a triple to lead the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls to an 8-4 victory over the visiting Grizzlies. Spring Planting, 22 years old, was the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association’s Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year in both 2009 and 2013, rodeo media reported, noting the horse died Feb. 23.
