    Frances L. (Fran) Lenhart, 97, died on August 28. Frances was born May 4, 1918, on a farm outside of Odessa, the fifth of six children born to Anna Mary and George Heimbigner. Frances grew up on farms in the Spangle, Odessa and Harrington areas and graduated from Harrington High School in 1935. She attended Cheney Normal School (EWU), graduating in 1938. Frances began her teaching career, first at Lakeland Village and then teaching junior high in Hay, during the war years....

    The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague tennis team traveled to West Valley High School in Spokane to compete in the district tournament on Saturday, May 16. The team had two singles players, two doubles teams and one alternate qualify to advance to the Regional Tournament. The team now travels to the Regional Tournament at Mead on May 22-23.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos tennis team has continued their successful season with matches against Wilbur-Creston, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus, and then against a variety of competitors at the Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane last weekend.     In less than ideal weather conditions, the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos tennis team faced Odessa-Harrington to begin league competition. The team started in Harrington where they matched up against Odessa-Harrington and a single Colfax athlete on March 28.
