    Lind and Ritzville schools faculty members have been hearing that many students would like to attend the championship game, but cannot afford the admission cost. Admission for students to the Tacoma Dome is $11. The Lind-Ritzville High School leadership class has offered to pay $5 for students’ admission.   • Lind, Ritzville schools closed this Friday

    Administrators for the Lind and Ritzville schools met on Monday morning and decided to close the local schools on Friday, Nov. 30, for students and faculty to have the opportunity to attend the state championship game. The day will count as a snow day for the district, but if the snow days have to be used later in the year, students will have to attend an extra day of school at the conclusion of the year.... Full story

  • AAUW to host annual Holiday Bazaar Saturday

    The Christmas season is kicked off this weekend with the annual AAUW Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ritzville Grade School gymnasium. Over 30 vendors are expected to be in attendance with an endless variety of decorative gift ideas for all members of the family. The bazaar is fun for all ages, and Santa Claus is making a special appearance to take photos during the entire event.   • Kickoff Christmas at the Ralston Grange

    A Christmas tradition, the Ralston Grange sponsored Christmas Potluck and Program, will be held in the Ralston Grange hall on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to all area residents, with families in the past coming from Ritzville, Lind, Washtucna, Benge and Ralston.     In 1981, high school quarterback Greg Whitmore took to the field to play in Kingbowl 5 for Entiat. The eight-man game against Tekoa ended in defeat for the Entiat team. Just hours before Entiat’s loss, head coach Mike Lynch led his Ritzville football team on to the field to battle in the state championship game against Morton. The donations will be given to the Ritzville Food Pantry to ensure all members of the communities stay warm this winter.
