The H.E. Gritman Senior Center will host its pancake breakfast this Friday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Breakfast will feature pancakes, a choice of ham or sausage and coffee with a suggested donation of $5 per person. The breakfast serves as a fundraiser for the senior center and is held the second Friday of every month, except during the summer. The H.E. Veteran’s Appreciation Night, hosted by the Ralston Grange, will take place at their hall in Ralston on Sunday, Nov. 12, beginning with a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. The Grange will be providing ham and turkey, beverages and table service. In September, the Town of Washtucna was notified they received a $750,000 grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) program. The money from the grant will go toward drilling and constructing a new water well, which will be located next to the old railroad well. Lind voters in the Nov. 7 General Election returned a majority of ballots in favor of Paula Bell to serve as the next Lind Town Mayor. Bell received 131 votes for 76 percent of votes, while Incumbent Jamie Schmunk received 41 votes. In the statewide election, Adams County had 1,586 ballots returned on Nov. 7 with an estimated 200 ballots left to be tabulated. The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos battled not only against the league’s top team, but also in less than ideal weather conditions, on Nov. 3 in Liberty. The Broncos competed in the Crossover game against the Liberty Lancers, but the 52-6 loss ended the team’s season and prevented them from competing in playoffs. The Broncos’ Rose Melville finished her senior cross country season at the 1B/2B State Championships on Nov. 4 at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
