    Many are already familiar with the fight or flight response humans experience to perform better in the face of stress. However research of adverse effects of stress, especially of chronic stress, on the brain is not as well known.     Minnie Christine (Lund) Franz, schoolteacher, homemaker and 72-year resident of Eastern Washington, died in Spokane on Sept. 12, two months short of her 100th birthday. Minnie was born Nov. 12 1915, near Bonetraill, North Dakota, the third of six children of Jens and Bena Lund. In 1943, Minnie moved to Lind, where she taught sixth grade for one year and met Robert Franz, whom she married on May 28, 1944.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos are looking to become the undisputed league champions on Friday in the final regular season game against the Colfax Bulldogs. The Broncos host Colfax at Jimmie Snider Field on Oct. 30, and will also honor the squad of 15 senior football players and three cheerleaders.
