  • National debt cannot continue to grow

    Updated Oct 25, 2012

Our national debt has increased from $10.6 trillion to $16 trillion in 4 years. Each taxpayer owes more than $140,000 as their share of the debt. Not a person in any nation of the Euro zone owes as much as we do. Our national debt increased more in the last 4 years than it did in the previous 17 years. Thirty-two cents of every dollar our government spends is borrowed. We spent $479 billion on interest this year and that figure would have been larger except a lot of our debt is borrowed at low interest. Last year our credit...

  • City water issues similar to sewer plant mess

    Updated Oct 25, 2012

Eight or so years ago it dawned on the members of the city council that the city had serious water issues? Are we speaking of the city water system that has not been properly maintained for 30 years or longer? The city water storage tank has not been maintained since 1985. Was this discovery of the need to make major improvements before or after the city had considered a new well which would have cost a mere one million dollars? Now we are told a well will cost more than $3.5 million? A rumor on the street claims the well...

  • Good Teams Left...

    Dale Anderson|Updated Oct 25, 2012

Congratulations goes out to the Broncos of LRS after two big victories over Reardan and Colfax. Both victories were huge to say the least. Shutting out the Indians on Jimmie Snider Field was a significant feat. But to follow that up with a long road trip to Colfax where a league championship was on the line would not be easy. In order to earn a league championship you need to knock off the reigning king of the hill. Reardan’s victory over the Bulldogs nearly three weeks ago p... Full story

When she got home in the early morning hours, she discovered she had been the victim of a residential burglary, in which a substantial amount of cash and personal items had been taken. The victim feels the suspects were acquaintances of hers as she could not find any signs of forced entry into the residence and it happened while she was in Spokane that evening. That...
