The Ritzville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2739 is hosting a benefit dinner on Saturday, Oct. 20, to support Bob and Sandy Tracy with upcoming medical costs. The first annual Pumpkin Patch is open in Washtucna on Thursday, Oct. 25, at Lion’s Park on Main Street. The Pumpkin Patch is open for students in preschool through fourth grade. When ballots for the Nov. 6 general election are sent this week, Washtucna residents can expect to see the re-submitted maintenance and operation (M&O) levy by the Adams County Park and Recreation District No. 2. The M&O levy appeared on the primary election ballot but failed with only 57.25 percent and 75 votes in favor of the levy, with a required 60 percent approval to pass. Superintendent of Lind-Ritzville schools, Rob Roettger, served as the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Oct. 11, to discuss the upcoming capital levy request on the general election ballot. For more than eight years, the City of Ritzville has known it needs to make major improvements to its water system. Its prime wells that provide water to citizens and businesses continue to falter and its water mains are aging and leaking underground, losing their precious content.
