    Doris (Jones) Amen passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Carlsbad, Calif., at the age of 93. She was born on Feb. 3, 1919, to Walter and Ethel (Piatt) Jones, on her Grandmother Jones’ farm north of Dayton, Wash. She was the second of three girls raised by her parents on their wheat farm.     The H.E. Gritman Senior Center is hosting a pancake breakfast on Friday, Oct. 12, from 7:30 a.m. until noon. The center hosts an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on the second Friday of every month. Pancakes are served with the choice of ham or sausage, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
